Every year, Port Huron Schools partners with the Port Huron branch of the NAACP to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and learn about the civil rights movement. Previous projects have included video contests, classroom development of community projects/volunteerism and district wide service projects. Most recently in 2020, students in middle and high schools throughout #1PHASD created blankets that were donated to local homeless shelters.

PARTICIPANTS: Port Huron Schools 6-12 students; K-5 students will have their own unique instruction featuring the books "Mae Among the Stars" and "Emmanuel's Dream: The True Story of Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah" SERVICE PROJECT: Senior Citizens are some of the most vulnerable in our population during this challenging time of pandemic.
